Our Story
Hi! This is Michael, founder of Cierve. I'm glad you're here and taking the time to read about our story.
I had the idea for Cierve while studying at the Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. My peers and I had the same goal: to start a successful business. We were motivated, hard workers with a formal business education, but we lacked real-world, hands-on experience to learn what it takes day in and day out to run a successful company. That's when I had an idea: what better way to gain this hands-on experience than by being an assistant to somebody already doing it?
I quickly set out to learn everything I could about being an assistant to a founder or CEO. I was surprised to find out just how much of a role assistants played in the overall success of an operation. Time and time again, success was attributed to effectively delegating certain tasks. This led me to months of more research, figuring out the art and science of effective delegation. I went all the way down the rabbit hole. The more I learned, the more I realized that delegating effectively wasn't just a key to success in the business world but a key to success in life.
Effective delegation had to be more accessible, so I founded Cierve, the name being a combination of the words "concierge" and "serve." Since launching, we've grown quite a bit, now operating in more than 50 areas across the US and Canada. I'm proud to say that most of our business has come from referrals, a testament to the quality of service we have been able to deliver.
It all started with two beliefs;
1 - Busy, successful, individuals and families need a source of delegation they can trust implicitly to help them achieve more.
2 - Young, driven professionals, early in their careers, need real-world opportunities to learn from those who've charted the path before them.
We set our aim to fulfill these two needs and be a win-win for both sides.
Our Approach
At Cierve, we're guided by one simple principle: Time is our clients' most valuable resource.
Everything we do, every system we have in place, every policy, and every procedure is designed to give our clients their time back.
Think about the process of hiring an assistant yourself… You would spend countless hours managing job ads, going through applications, and conducting interviews, never with any guarantee the hire you make will be a good fit. Add to that you're responsible for their training, payroll, IT, benefits, etc. This is not a good use of your time.
Cierve has this entire process down to a science and guarantees your satisfaction. The only effort on your part is our onboarding questionnaire, which takes ~15 minutes to complete but is necessary to capture your specific needs, preferences, and working style and ensure our service is right for you. From there, you'll be matched with a top-tier, team-supported assistant tailored to your needs who will be ready to tackle your tasks from day one.
